Charging Policy

At Hadfield Nursery School, we want all our children to have equal opportunity to benefit from school activities both on and off-site.  This policy sets out our policy to charging and remissions and in doing this our intention is to ensure transparency in setting charges and ensure all children have the opportunity to access all the provision on offer.

1

School meals

The school charges for school meals, the amount determined by Derbyshire County Council.

2

Childcare

The school will charge families for childcare which is additional to the funded hours of nursery education.  The amount is reviewed annually by the Governing Body and is currently set at £4.50 per hour and £2.50 for the lunchtime period.

3

Voluntary contributions for snack

We ask parents to contribute towards a healthy snack for children each day.  This money is also used towards special events such as Christmas parties and cooking activities.  The current contribution is £1.50 per week for children attending for 15 hours and £3.00 per week for children attending for 30 hours.

4

Voluntary contributions for activities and trips

We may in certain circumstances invite parents to make a voluntary contribution towards activities.  The amount of the contribution is based on the projected cost for the activity.

Pupils will not be treated differently according to whether or not their parents have made any contribution in response to the request.  However where there are not enough voluntary contributions to make the activity possible, then it may be cancelled.

5

Childcare charges for the persistently late collection of children

Where we consider the late collection of children has become a persistent issue, then the following charges will apply:

£5 for the first 10 minutes and £2 for each 5 minute period thereafter.
