My daughter Anwen attended Hadfield Nursery School from January 2013 and as a family, we fell in love with the place immediately. We didn’t need Ofsted to tell us it was outstanding, although it’s great to see that they too recognise the same hard work and dedication that us parents witness on a daily basis. It was this absolute and unflinching devotion to the children; their educational and emotional wellbeing, that encouraged me to become more actively involved and I became a parent governor later that same year.
As part of a great team of governors, I am now able to help shape the future direction of the school, working with the Head Teacher, staff and the Local Authority where necessary. As well as playing an active role in the general governance of the school, I sit on the Curriculum and Care Committee and I am the nominated governor for ‘Equality and Special Educational Needs’.
I’m extremely proud of Hadfield Nursery School’s devotion to early year’s education and of their recent accomplishments. The school played a huge part in my daughter’s growth and development during her time here, as it is doing currently for my son, who started in February 2015.
I look forward to continuing to support the school in future years, as part of my tenure as Parent Governor and beyond.

I am a mother of two (with another on the way) and both of my children have been students at Hadfield Nursery. My daughter Corliss (now 5) loved her time here so much that I felt very strongly that I wanted to be involved with the nursery somehow. It was an obvious choice for us to send our son, Dexter, here as well and he has settled in brilliantly. This is thanks to the fantastic staff and range of activities that Hadfield Nursery has to offer. As a former Secondary English teacher, it felt natural to me to sit on the Curriculum and Care committee and it has definitely been interesting seeing things at a preschool level and how the foundations for lifelong learning are created here. I am extremely proud of the nursery and the positive impact it has on the Hadfield community.

I was elected parent governor in December 2017. As a parent of 2 girls, both of whom have attended Hadfield Nursery School, I saw the opportunity to become parent governor as one not to be missed.
I have many years experience working with children and families in the Early Years, and I hope to put my knowledge and skills to good use as parent governor.
I currently serve on the Finance Committee, the Personnel Committee and the Curriculum and Care committee.

My son Alphin started at Hadfield Nursery School in 2017. From the moment we stepped through the door on the open day, we knew we wanted him to attend.
Alphin has come on leaps and bounds since starting here. The devotion of staff to the care, wellbeing and learning of each child is second to none.
When Mrs Mortimer asked if I would be interested in taking a Governor role I was honoured to have been asked. I sit on the curriculum and care committee.
My Speciality is the Arts, especially in music. I hope to bring my musical experience into the school and do monthly music sessions with the children.
I very much look forward to working with t the school and other governors for many years to come.
